Basically, you have to submit an up to 300 words pitch of your novel, along with a 3000-5000 excerpt from you novel, along with the novel itself.
first round is judged by the pitch alone, second goes to public voting on the excerpt, then it goes to reveiwers, then agents/editor, then a winner is chosen.

each round a fair chunk of people are eliminated (mostly in the first round)

winning gets you a 15,000 dollar advance and a publishing contract with penguin, if you get to the later stages, agents will be reading your work and you might get offered something.

if you get to the second last (i think) stage, you get a detailed run through of your entire novel by editor/agents.

it closes the 6th of feb, or when they reach 10,000 entrants, which ever comes first.
each catagory (fiction and non-fiction) has place for 5,000 entrants.

theres no entry fee.

thought you all might like to know/be reminded. only found out about it myself and entered on the basis of "fuck it, why not"
