How about a thread that asks the question Why do you write?

Now there is a question worthy of its own thread.

I write because I choose to. In all fairness it's true. Some may say that they are driven, or that they have a "calling", but I chose to write, and I wanted to get as good at it as I could. Call me hilarious.

My directory is showing three area codes for 'hilarious'. Chuckle, giggle and guffaw. If I dial outside of those zones I am concerned that roaming charges may be applied to my account. Yeah, I don't go for the 'calling' angle. Driven, I would need a definition. But, for me, this is not a choice. I've kicked a few things that bedevil others to their graves. Writing, well I know when my will is matched with meaningful action. Getting as good at it as I can, the effort is renewed with every word. I look at what I've just written and see how it could be rearranged to correspond in response to your post in a more 'tit for tat' fashion. Do you see what I mean? If so, is that an important aspect of respond writing?

It's always best to be fresh and original. Internet Trolls use "tit-for-tat" and mimic what others say. It's a great training ground for Plagiarism, because that's what it is. Once you take someone's words, and voice and use them as your own, you are stealing. I'd stay away from that if I were you. But no. I can't tell what you mean.

Startin' to see how indecipherable my syntax is to some. I will continue in my efforts to make my message plain. Thanks for your patience and direction thus far.

I write because I believe that words can make a difference; sometimes they can manifest things into reality, sometimes they can purge our insanities. Either ways, word is word!

I write because I fell in love with poetry when I was young and wanted to be a poet. What I read and how I write has changed dramatically over the years, but the desire to write poetry has never left, although it's sometimes (like now) dormant.
