Listening right now. Sappy? Yeah, a little bit. The last book I read was Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises. . . which, admittedly was quite a while ago. I write poetry, but haven't been writing seriously for very long. I can drum up decency at best right now, so I'm hoping to improve upon the quality, especially imagery, of my poetry. So, then. . .

As writers it's important to listen by reading and thinking about what we've read. You may best do that by offering opinions about what you've read here... S T R E T C H your limits, ...and welcome to Mary.

I would say it's a good idea to put some work out there when you're starting out. That way people can help point out any underlying flaws that may otherwise go undetected for months, years, etc. Oh, and read, read lots. I've never read a good book where the writer isn't a reader. So, welcome aboard Pippa

Thank you, all of you. Jenifer, your fondness for the man probably beats mine one-hundred to one. I was quite averse to him when reading The Old Man And The Sea, or for the duration of all my attempts to read it. The man doesn't live up to the legend, I feel. Still, I maintain a quaint corner for him in my heart of hearts. Father Luke, I have at my disposal the extraordinary ability to do just that. Stretch. Looking forward to it. I'm about to do just that redperil. And Brecht, you're the darling of my heart.

No, she's not. I came here because it is, indeed, a pit. Teenage writers has become a dump--was a dump before I even got there. I took time to realize it. I dislike the way it's run, and I dislike it's apparent ability to attract people who don't actually write anything--rather, they chat it up in off topic and give far shittier critiques than I ever could.

I've heard of aforementioned sadism. It's nearly legendary, in fact. Had you been, you could still be counted among the ranks of lizard bitches and half-mad-heretics. I think it would be unlike Ying, albeit, I know not what is common of her, to lead an army of incompetence into Jadaville during the siege. The effect, I think, would be comparable to leading an army of incompetence into Literary Mary. She aggravates the ignorant masses there, and I feel fairly certain she enjoys it (correct me, Ying, if I'm wrong). Of course, if you deem me incompetent, she can hardly be blamed for it. I wasn't coerced into joining by Ying. But. . . caution her if you feel you must. You know her better.

Ha. That's a thank you a couple months in advance. I've just recently started cultivating balls. I don't want to abuse them. Not just yet. There's not much to miss, sparing the lunatics, of course. Do you think she'd try to ban me?
