Imagine my heart
as a snowglobe: a suburban
house,
a wife who drives our two
children to soccer practice
while I gather the backyard leaves
into a neat pyre
with a Labrador
named Charlie, who
understands
in his doggy way
why I must pause
between each step
watching the late leaves
with the rake
heavy in my hands.

Imagine your heart as a snow globe or your life?

Because I think the picture you have set here is rich and vivid, although I think you could break your lines a little more carefully or perhaps less carefully.  But what you have here is a snow globe picture of your life, and if you were to simply say that - your audience could infer your heart into it.

Get what I'm saying?
