I didn't read Olaf's advice, what did he say?

It wasn't direct. I just have a bad habit of reading between lines.

The things about writing every day is this, it taught
me that writing is something I do, like brushing my teeth,
or turning on my computer, or taking out the trash.

I got the suggestion to write, as a discipline, at different times
of the day - write early, write in the afternoon, write at night - vary
the time I write, so that I can reinforce that I can
do this thing -- writing -- anytime I set my mind to do it. That took
away the stigma that I had to be "inspired", and helped me create
a new idea about writing.

I write because it's what I do. I'm a writer.
Writing, as a discipline, and that's what is implied
in writing every day -- the topic of this thread -- helped
me to understand that about writing.

In that conference with Ted Kooser I posted, and hated, the old blind stooge said every morning when it's still dark out, he writes a poem.

Forces it out.

That's a point worthy of debate, does that shit work?

My answer is fuck no, and my answer is evidenced to be true by the quality of that laureate's work.

LOL writing a poem a day? what's up with that?

that is very brilliant advice that i should start taking; perhaps it would give me some structure and take my mind off of the million other absurdities i worry about.
