Hi, and welcome to LiteraryMary.

As a current member I just want to ask a couple questions, and maybe create a dialog.

1. What are your personal hopes for Mary?
2. What do you use Mary for?
3. What would you like to see Mary used for?

Okay I'll go first:

My hopes for Mary are that she will remain the best, most honest, informative, supportive writing forum on the internet.  I hope she continues on in the manner she is, that she'll keep publishing the print journal and online stuff and continue to bear offshoot publications.  I'd also like to see her maybe start publishing some chapbooks spotlighting one writer at a time.

2.  I use Mary for workshopping and for hanging out with other writers.

3.  I would like to see Mary used for the same, and mainly to see Mary used to help writers develop their craft and become better at the thing they love doing - writing!  I'd also like to see members use her to help get published and to let us know when that happens so we can help support them.

1: I hope Mary gets to the point where she begins to publish (both online and in hardcopy) more and more to the point where she gains acclaim and  her publications are sold worldwide..

2: I used to use Mary as a way of making sure I write regularly (daily) but recently prose is dominating and I tend to do that on my own.

3: Anything anyone wants so long as its fine with everyone else.

A place to be, without judgment on person or content.

A place for merciless critique of writing.

A hard wooden table in a cold attic, lit by oil lamps, fed with bread and beer, and warmed with love.
